The New Mexico House Republican Caucus will file suit against the Governor's unlawful order stripping citizens of their 2nd Amendment rights. We cannot afford to allow the Governor's actions to set precedent that will allow politicians to subvert and shred our American freedoms. More details on the lawsuit will be forthcoming. Additionally, House Republicans are exploring all avenues to deliver legislation that will help stem the crime epidemic that is plaguing New Mexico. Our caucus has consistently called for commonsense criminal justice reforms including addressing the reckless pre-trial release system and delivering behavioral health reforms for criminal rehabilitation, and will continue to push for these laws to be updated or enacted. No law abiding citizen's rights should be infringed when the the commonsense solution is to create laws that make it tough to be a criminal in New Mexico.

New Mexico House Republicans today announce a free to download and print Parental Notification and Consent form. The Parental Notification and Consent form is made available to the public following the enactment of several state laws that require and encourage government bureaucrats to withhold notification and involvement of parents of minor-aged students engaged in major lifechanging medical and sexual discussions and decisions.

Parents have put up with a lot over the last few years but take away their right to protect the health and safety of their kids, and it is clear that New Mexicans of all ethnic, social, and political persuasions have had enough. The nonstop and aggressive march of progressive social policies in New Mexico has finally struck a nerve. The public has largely been silenced as MLG and progressive legislators have eroded their constitutional rights. The free flow of illegal drugs is at epidemic levels. Violent criminals are released back onto the streets without any regard for public safety. The final straw is this destructive attack on New Mexico families. New Mexico parents can take a stand by sending the letter to their public school administrator demanding to be notified of issues affecting their children. “The people of Albuquerque should be outraged at what is going on in Santa Fe, these progressives simply do not care about crime in our city,” said State Rep. Several Albuquerque candidates and crime victim’s advocates came together today to roll out a Safe Communities Plan. The press conference occurred amidst an ongoing crime wave that continues to run rampant across the metro area, which has twice broken its murder record since 2019.

House Republicans called out MLG for keeping our schools in the dark, and secured getting partial test data to our educators, however the administration blocked you from seeing that same data… we can only assume that voters will finally be allowed to see schools test scores after the election.

The Democrats don’t want you to know how bad things really are. The learning loss for NM students is staggering. MLG knows this and has tried delaying the release of the education testing results before the election. In a major blow to a Governor who has enjoyed 620+ days of unchecked "emergency" authority over New Mexicans, the NM Supreme Court sided with The People and the Constitution, guaranteeing that our state's elected Legislature would continue to have the power to expend state treasury funds.
