The New Mexico House Republican Caucus will file suit against the Governor's unlawful order stripping citizens of their 2nd Amendment rights. We cannot afford to allow the Governor's actions to set precedent that will allow politicians to subvert and shred our American freedoms. More details on the lawsuit will be forthcoming. Additionally, House Republicans are exploring all avenues to deliver legislation that will help stem the crime epidemic that is plaguing New Mexico. Our caucus has consistently called for commonsense criminal justice reforms including addressing the reckless pre-trial release system and delivering behavioral health reforms for criminal rehabilitation, and will continue to push for these laws to be updated or enacted. No law abiding citizen's rights should be infringed when the the commonsense solution is to create laws that make it tough to be a criminal in New Mexico.
